- Beach towel(duh) preferably a cute beach towel like this flamingo towel above!
- Swimsuit top: I love separates that can be paired with a lot of different tops or bottoms to get the best bang for your buck! This palms high rise swim top from H&M is a great price and it looks similar to the Mumu swim top that is over 100 dollars!
- Swim bottoms: I am all for high rise bathing suit bottoms lately. They are great for us curvier girls and are in style right now. I love stripes so I shared this one but you can find cute swim bottoms like this at Target, which is my favorite place to get swimsuits. I don’t know about y’all but I cannot afford VS swimwear on a college budget!
- Sunnies: My favorite pair of sunglasses I’ve owned are these Rayban Clubmasters in black and gold. Protect your vision while looking fab!
- Sunscreen/tanning lotion: As the summer goes on, I slowly switch from sunscreen to tanning lotion and this stuff is my favorite!
- Sandals(preferable cheap, cute ones): These birkenstocks are the sandal of the summer and you can find knock offs here for WAY cheaper, I even own them and they are comfy and look just like the real thing!
- Beach bag: Something big and spacious that can fit your towel, sunnies, lotion, and whatever else you drag to the beach. How cute is this one with synchronized swimmers on it!?
- Lip balm: Protect your lips too! I sware by eos balls and always will!
- Water bottle: Stay hydrated in the heat! My favorite water bottle is this one right here. The contigo from target is basically a cheaper version of a camelback water bottle and I love it so much. You can also find cute water bottles at Victoria’s Secret!
- Floppy hat: MUST! Double the protection and hides your hair when it isn’t having the best of days. Did I mention they are super cute and you will feel extra stylish when wearing them? Because really, you will. You can find cheap floppy hats at Target, Old Navy, and even Walmart!
shorty like mine
The staple of summer: white shorts. I love anything white, especially in the summer. White shorts bring a classy look to any outfit and make you feel super tan! I snatched these shorts from Old Navy a few months ago and they are the perfect length and price!! Read below for outfit details—->
For this look, I went with a color scheme I don’t typically wear, blue + green. I love both of these colors separate but I never thought to put them together until now! I call this look: desert chic. I am ashamed to say that every piece from this outfit is from Old Navy(yes, even the shoes..) But don’t worry, the necklace and watch aren’t! I started with these white shorts and it was basically a blank canvas. Not to mention they are on sale for 15 dollars right now(link below). I was already wearing this green tank, that is wonderful might I add. It has an open back and it is so comfy! I then threw on this aztec bomber jacket that I can’t get enough of. I love bomber jackets because of their versatility.
Onto necessories. I wanted to obviously add some gold and brown so my shoes did the job. These espadrilles(kind of) from Old Navy are the cutest. They also have them in navy! I love what they added to this outfit and I always am up for tying in brown somehow. The gold in my shoes led me to add gold accessories of course. I wore this aztec beaded necklace from World Market and threw on my go to fossil watch because what is new. I hope I have inspired you to buy white shorts or throw something together you haven’t before, sometimes it might just work!
Have a great week fashionistas,
xo Julia

trop it like it’s hot
Tropicall me maybe? Tropical illusion? Alright, tropical gave me a run for my money when it came to my pun ability but I tried my best and it’ll have to do haha. I am currently on a mission trip in Little Rock, Arkansas serving as a chaperone for the high school kiddos. I wanted to post this before I left so here ya go! Read on below for outfit details…
Like I have said before, I really am digging anything tropical this summer, especially if it looks like this skirt. Thank the Lord for Target where I can go to get my necessary products and completely unnecessary products like this skirt. It looks like someone painted with water colors on it and I love it so much. It is sheer with a slit built inside and it is extra breezy. I have already worn it to the beach when I was in Florida last month and it was perfect. I decided to live on the edge and pair this skirt with even more patterns, because why the heck not? I love stripes and basically wear them as a neutral. I kept this outfit casual with my favorite shoes, these gold knock off Birkenstocks I shared with y’all a few weeks back.
Onto the necessories…I completed my look with none other than gold(shocking , I know). I love this necklace I found from Charming Charlie’s a few years ago(it’s actually my sisters but she never wears it.shhh). It added some edge to my already crazy look and I liked the way it turned out. To keep the tropical theme alive, I added what every tropical outfit needs, sunnies! These gold club master Ray Bans are my all time favorite sunglasses and I highly recommend spending the big money on them, they are worth it. & that my fashionistas, is how you trop it like it’s hot?
xo,
Julia

ready, jet, go!
- Comfy t-shirt(my go to is a striped shirt because I have one too many.)
- Boyfriend Jeans (you never know the temperature on the airplane so I always wear some cropped pants to play it safe.)
- Casual shoes(please don’t be that person wearing wedges to sit on an airplane. My travel shoe of choice is Converse.)
- Watch(I never go without a watch when I’m traveling, never over do the jewelry just to sit on an airplane, keep it simple with a watch.)
- Jacket(my favorite travel accessory is my army green jacket, it is simple and perfect for traveling.)
- Sunglasses(because hopefully you are going somewhere sunny! My Ray Bans never leave my side.)
- Fun lip color(keep your lips hydrated, especially if you are headed to the beach!)
- Entertainment(mine comes in the form of a magazine full of clothes and my favorite Spotify playlist.)
- Bag: Kanken Backpack (I almost always travel with either a backpack or large tote to fit all of my travel necessities.)
Alright fashionistas, you are ready for take off!

stop & flare
Warning: These pants I am about to tell you about are life changing and you will want them in every color. But really, I am not kidding, ask my friend Ally. We each have them in several colors and I can’t rave enough about them. These flared linen pants are so versatile. You can wear them on a long car ride with a casual t-shirt or dress them up with a nicer top and wedges/heels. & I haven’t even told you the best part. The waist band is elastic(insert praising hands emoji here). Read on for details about this outfit!
This outfit was inspired by these pants and my recent trip to Florida. Lately, I am wearing lots of blues and nautical patterns. This tank top has little blue fishes all over it and I love it for that. The back has buttons with an open lower back so it’s super breezy and fun! I decided to dress up my linen flared pants with this top and some brown wedges. I clearly love anything flowy and if you do too, go getcha self these pants. Old Navy has them in black, white, taupe, striped, and navy!
Onto the necessories. Since my outfit was very neutral and simple, I wanted to add a pop of color with these neon studded earrings which are from Old Navy?! The Old Navy near my house(literally 30 seconds away so you can see why I have a problem) doesn’t sell jewelry but the one about 20 minutes away does so I try to check their jewelry out from time to time and I always walk away with something. Their jewelry is super cheap and adorable. They have these studded earrings in several different colors but I decided to go a little crazy and get the neon yellow ones. I then finished my necessories with my usual gold Fossil watch. & that is how this outfit came to be!
Have a fabulous weekend fashionistas, check back next week for a new post comin’ your way!

shell me more
She sells sea shells by the seashore? Try typing that three times fast. Hope everyone had a memorable memorial weekend! I sure didn’t do much outdoors thanks to mother nature. The rain has got to stop or I am going to lose my Florida tan(first world problems). Read on below for how I styled this black and white seashell dress!
When in doubt, Old Navy it out. Literally, my closet has transformed over the past year into a new Old Navy location in Flower Mound. It is pretty pathetic because there is not much I don’t own from that store. Speaking of Old Navy, I am sure you have guessed where this dress is from. Oh, and this denim top too, whoops. I am wearing nautical everything around this time of year: sea shells, flamingos, pineapples, anchors, fish, and more. I love to pretend like I’m on the beach even though I’m building an ark in Texas to take shelter from the storms. I love sundresses because they are 1. flowy and 2. can stand alone or act as a layering piece.
Let’s talk necessories(my new word). It might come as a shock that I chose gold. I know, I know, who am I? I honestly don’t remember the last time I wore silver jewelry and I’m not even sad. I wore my typical gold fossil watch and added a necklace and sunglasses to spice it up. This gold dainty necklace is shaped like a compass and it is from Charming Charlie. I love it so much! My Ray Ban gold club masters complete almost any outfit and add a bit of edge. Add some nautical patterns to your wardrobe, I mean, why the shell not?

friYAY
It feels so good to be blogging again after a few crazy weeks of traveling and finishing up my semester of classes! I am happy to say that I will never, ever be a student again?! From now on, I’ll be doing the opposite! Anyway, I am ecstatic that it is finally summertime, just wishing the rain would get the heck outta here. I’m ready to build an ark, who’s with me? Read below for outfit details on how I styled my new favorite graphic tee!
This outfit is my go to summer look. I love being casual and this outfit is just that. I got this friyay graphic tank from Target a few weeks ago and I am obsessed. I love the simplicity of it and how big the letters are. AND, it is a henley, convinced yet? Now on to these shorts. I found these when I was in Florida last month at TjMaxx. They were only 14.99 and are incredibly comfy. I love floral anything around this time of year so they were a must. As for the shoes, they are gold knock off birks(thank you Ross)! I have a weakness for anything gold, clearly, and they are super cheap compared to the real thing.
Now on to necessories(necessary accessories). I found this striped tote in the clearance section of Target this past winter for 9 bucks! I may or may not have the matching backpack, no ragrets, not even just one letter. Anyway, I recently found out that it has about a million secret compartments that I never knew were there before and it is the best bag to carry all your crap you accumulate throughout the day. I wore some knock off coral/gold Kendra Scott earring that I bought from a small boutique in Fort Worth for much cheaper than Kendra(not hard to beat). & what is an outfit without a watch? I added my gold fossil watch to tie in my gold “birks” that I can’t wear enough. I know Birkenstocks are making a huge comeback this summer but let’s be real, I can’t afford to buy the real thing. So instead, I have a white pair, a gold pair, and a cheetah pair, all for less than I would pay for actual birks. I recommend checking target/tjmaxx/ross for any knock offs if you are searching!
HAPPY FRIYAY! Have a wonderful weekend.
xoxo, Julia

bloom bloom pow
Tis’ the season of bridal showers, brunches, weddings, and engagement parties! I’m not sure if there is a shortage of marriages in this country, but lemme tell ya what, people are getting married like there is no tomorrow, literally. I think that everytime I go on Facebook, I see someone new on my news feed that is either engaged or just got married. I for one hardly know what I want to eat for breakfast tomorrow so that tells you where I’m at on the whole marriage thing, not(hah). I do, however, love to attend all of the events that go along with a wedding! I love the decorations, the presents that I wish I could have, the outfits I get to wear, oh and most importantly the food! I just got back from Florida after a bachelorette getaway to surprise my soon to be married cousin, Ryleigh! My sister and I are both bridesmaids in her wedding coming up in May so we surprised her this past weekend to celebrate her! We were able to join in on the fun filled weekend which included: day on the boat, limo ride, painting with a twist, shopping, hibachi, singing at the top of our lungs, food, more food, and lastly, her bridal shower, which was the cutest thing I have ever seen(see pictures below). Overall, it was a great weekend and I loved getting to do all of the fun wedding events without actually being the bride! I thought that since wedding season is upon us, I would share with you some styling tips for your future wedding activities!
First, the bachelorette party. Girls night out means bold patterns and fun accessories. Oh and don’t wear white, leave that color for the bride! For this bachelorette party, we had tank tops made with bachelorette on them to coordinate. So I just had to find something for my other half! When I came across these pants at Target, I grabbed them and didn’t look back. They are so out there that I love them. I tucked in my tank top to these bad boys and added some height because Lord knows I need it. I wore some black heeled wedges that are also from Target. I finished my look with a bold gold statement necklace to add some edge to my girly look. My biggest advice for bachelorette parties, wear something you’ve never worn before, be daring and own it! It’s girls night out, have a little fun!
Second, the bridal shower. This is my all time favorite event associated with weddings. I love seeing the bride open her gifts, I love the food that comes along with it, and I love the outfits you can wear. I have been to only a handful of bridal showers in my life and I almost always wear a floral or colorful dress. Again, avoid white. Once your a bride, you’ll probably understand, let them have the spotlight! I came across this dress at TjMaxx while I was in Florida. I had actually already packed a different dress to wear to her shower but changed my mind once I found this dress. Go for something girlier than you typically might wear, it’s fun to dress up!
Hope y’all have a wonderful Sunday! xoxo, Julia

cattitude
I love Friday and I still hate cats. If you know me, you know that. I do however love anything cheetah print. I like to say that cheetah is a neutral in my book. It goes with everything! Today I’m sharing with you an outfit that is a great transition for Spring. Read on for outfit details—>
Because I love pattern mixing, I fell in love with this scarf when I came across it at Charming Charlie’s. I like cheetah and plaid so why not both?! I decided to keep my outfit simple so that this scarf could have the spotlight. I started with a plain black T-shirt. I layered a black blazer on top to dress it up a bit. I went for my typical boyfriend jeans and finished with some tan booties. I then added this scarf for the final touch. During spring, the weather is so bipolar so it’s best to layer. I wear booties as long as I can because I love them so much.
Like I always say, no need for a necklace when you have a scarf! I added a pair of black kendra scott earrings to dress up my look even more. & since the spring sun is shining bright, I threw on my black & gold club master Ray Bans that were worth every dollar. They are the perfect size and make me feel cooler than I actually am.
Well that’s all for this week fashionistas, Have a fabulous weekend!
xoxo, Julia

hose before bros
It’s the greatest day of the week: MONDAY! hah, not. To make it a little better, I thought I’d share with you this outfit to prepare you for the rest of the work week! This is an outfit that I styled that can be transformed from work to a night out with a few simple changes. Read on for outfit details & business styling tips!
To dress for work, I usually include two things: a blazer and flats. I for one love blazers of all kinds, especially patterned and colorful ones. I also am a wimp when it comes to heels because teachers do a lot of walking and there is NO way I will ever wear heels to work(thank GOD). I go for flats or sandals almost every day. They are comfy, dressy, and practical. I also love polka dots, I am sure you already know that. They are fun and classy! To get this look, I started with this blue blazer that is originally from Forever 21 but I snagged from Plato’s Closet for 8 bucks! I then layered this polka dot knit top underneath. I tucked my shirt into a simple black skater skirt. I decided to go a little crazy and add some fun tights(they have bows on them, how cute?!). I slipped on some black flats, added my glasses, grabbed some coffee, and was ready to take on my day!
Read on for how I changed this look for a night out—>
From day to night: When you don’t have time to run home and change after you get off work and have dinner plans or a fun night out, here is what you do. Keep the base of your outfit the same. No need to waste a perfectly good outfit. Bring a change of shoes like heels or booties and a statement necklace in your car and throw off the glasses and you my fashionista are ready for a girls night out(or whatever it is you have to do!)
